Coming Soon: A New Kitchen

Last week I went to B&Q with my dad and one of my nieces. That's a huge department store here in the UK by the way. I'm not sure if they have foreign stores. But they are one of the best when it comes to DIY. This particular branch was so huge they had a seperate store entirely for working with traders. They also had a really cool Christmas display.

So awesome
We were there because, as the title of the post suggests, we need a new kitchen. We've needed one for a while. The whole house needs some TLC. Now that my dad is retired we're really looking into it now. We went there last week to take a look at what they had on offer but apparently that wasn't enough. We had to go back this week, on Monday, to put together the kitchen. Then we have someone visiting us on Saturday to do some surveying. THEN they're going to install the kitchen.

Some time next year. In January or February.

They're fully booked up. Anyway, the design process was pretty cool. The guy we were talking to (who has actually built a house from the ground up) had a sweet 3D design suite that let him place and remove furniture. For those who've played it, it was kind of like designing a room in The Sims. I have to say I'm looking forward to seeing the finished product. We got a preview of what it might look like in the suite.

It's beautiful. Even if you can't make it out well.
You can't see it from that angle but there are cabinets next to the fridge. We'll probably have to give up on those because there might not be room. It'll also take a few hundred quid off the price. They're also completely unnecessary. So, yeah, they might be gone. It's up to dad and the surveyor. I'll be asleep when he arrives. Lulz.

Like I said the work won't start for a few months yet but I'm looking forward to seeing the finished work. If it goes well I'll even be comfortable taking a few pictures for you guys.

P.S Remember remember the fifth of November, of gunpowder treason and plot. I see no reason why gunpowder treason should ever be forgot.

Edited to use the actual Gunpowder plot rhyme.

  1. Getting a new kitchen is exciting! The kitchen is the heart of a home, as they say. And a Happy Guy Fawkes Day to you, sir.
